Title: Program Supervisor, Community Schools

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's Degree, Master’s Degree preferred in Child Development or related field
2. Demonstrated management, teaching experience in after-school, education or child care setting; minimum 2 years
3. Special education experience desirable
4. Demonstrated administrative, supervisory experience; minimum 1 year
5. Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

REPORTS TO: Director, Community Schools

SUPERVISES: Assists Director with supervision of After-School and Summer Camp Program staff

JOB GOAL: The Program Supervisor of Community Schools coordinates and directs the After-School and Summer Camp staff hiring and training, the After-School Teacher Workday and Summer Camp program activity schedules and provides administrative support for the Community Schools office productivity.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Assesses and communicates needs of After-School and Summer Camp programs to the Director of Community Schools.

2. Assesses personnel needs and informs the Director of Community Schools; recruits, interviews
and hires Group Leaders with assistance from Site Directors.

3. Assists the Director in recruitment, hiring and evaluating Site Directors.

4. Recruits, hires and orients After-School substitutes.

5. Counsels Site Directors in the supervision and training of staff and substitutes.

6. Develops, implements and supervises annual staff development and orientation.

7. Establishes and maintains staff data bases and personnel files.

8. Reviews and approves biweekly After-School and Summer Camp staff timesheets.

9. Develops, manages and evaluates the After-School, Teacher Workday and Summer Camp program activity curricula.

10. Plans and coordinates Teacher Workday and Summer Camp field trips, special activities and
student meals.

11. Develops and maintains After-School and Summer Camp theme packets.

12. Researches and screens community resources for After-School and Summer Camp enrichment activities.

13. Prepares and maintains required program documentation for NC Licensing, provides training in
licensing requirements and tracks site inspections.

14. Assists the Community Schools Registrar in adapting program enrollment based on staffing.

15. Coordinates enrollment of and staffing for students with special needs.

16. Serves on Site Advisory Committees.

17. Promotes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with school personnel related to
After-School and Summer Camp programs.

18. Participates in professional state and national after-school organizations.

19. Serves as Assistant Director of Community Schools in absence of the Director.

20. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months. Salary established according to adopted schedule.

EVALUATION: Performance is evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
